confusing. The boot loader installation found my Slackware, WinXP and new Debian installs and added them to the menu. It didn't see my FreeBSD partition, but that would be a little much to expect.

I'm fairly sure it could be done... it's probably just not done
because we don't have the right information. How do you recognize a
*BSD installation and the right boot options?
Not too sure. I daisy chain into it now. I use lilo normally to boot my system and just add:
other = /dev/hda3
  label = FreeBSD

I have the FreeBSD bootloader installed to its root partition. Lilo seems to accept it when I run it. So apparently it recognizes the FreeBSD bootloader okay. It seems like it would be problem though since the partitioning scheme with the BSDs is so foreign to linux. BSD has one big paritition with "slices" in it for what we would think of as normal partitions. Fdisk only sees the one partition but BSD sees the separate slices for /, swap and /usr. Not sure if that helps you at all. I might try reinstalling again if I get the chance and see if I can break anything for you.

Scott
