Okay, thanks for that information.  Since this is a kernel issues,
there's nothing we can do.

This is really harmless.

If you can find out, that would certainly be appreciated.  Also, have
you tried booting with various parameters such as noapic nolapic etc.

LVM would definitely help, and you could at least share stuff like
/home or /mp3 between different installs.  LVM is also supported in
d-i.
