Can you try a current image from
http://gluck.debian.org/cdimage/testing/sarge_d-i/ and see if you can
still see this problem? There was a fix about this recently, but I
don't know if it really fixed the problem.

Was this under d-i, or can you also reproduce this with a normal
installation? What version of lvm did you use (1 or 2, and which
version exactly).

There's a bug filed on partman about partitions the same size not
handled correctly; but I'm not sure this is the same bug. Is this
before the LVM configuration?

In partman? What does /proc/mdstat say? How many blocks does the
device have? Is that with 2.4 or 2.6?
