Comments/Problems:

The install went flawlessly and without incident as I've come to expect.
I manually partitioned a single swap (256M) and a single root ext3 (2G)
partition.

If you would like me to do another install with a different set of options
(i.e. letting the installer take care of partitioning, etc.) let me know.

Also, I can include the /var/log/debian-installer info if that would be helpful.

Can you maybe try more up to date images from
http://gluck.debian.org/cdimage/testing/sarge_d-i/ and play around a
bit?
