Can you try new images from
http://gluck.debian.org/cdimage/testing/sarge_d-i/ and see if this is
still there? It shouldn't be.

Again, can you try the new images and say whether this is still the
case. How did you choose to install X? What graphics card do you
have? Can you send your /var/log/XFree86.0 file.
