This was with 2.6, right?

Can you please paste the output of the following two commands:
  lspci
  lspci -n

Yeah, the daily images are currently pretty broken due to a bug in
libdebian-installer - not all packages needed for the partitioning
tool are installed.  We're working on a fix for this.

Our 2.4 kernel actually includes the SATA patch from 2.4.27-pre2, but
it seems there is no ata_piix module.
