Well, outside of d-i, discover1 has been replaced by discover2.
discover1 is still around as a legacy package for sarge, but will be
removed in the long run. I'm not sure when we'll switch over d-i
completely to discover2, but it won't likely be until after sarge
releases. How you want to organize the translation teams given all this
is up to you.
