Re: Kernel panic after debian installer beta4 installation


I have the same problem when i try to install sarge (linux26 kernel2.6) with the beta4. I have no problem when i install (linux kernel2.4) on the same pc (an vaio pcgfx702). The install succed (i don't think so, that it is an installer problem) but when i reboot i have this error:

code : bad EIP value
<0> Kernel panic : Attempted to kill init !

I don't think it is a problem of the debian installer because it worked without any problem.
BTW, what is a EIP value??

Did 2.4 work?  Can you try te 2.6.5 images from unstable?
