Comments/Problems:
It was a beautiful installation all the way down to grub.
I had to build a new kernel right away to get wireless working as the 2.4.25 doesn't have CONFIG_NET_RADIO enabled but is necessary to build the hostap driver.

I'm closing this installation report since it reported no problems.

Note that the 2.4.25 debian kernel does have CONFIG_NET_RADIO=3Dy
