Bug#241984: hmm

It's hard to tell from this description, but it sounds like you may have
selected the old partitioner, partconf, from the menu, instead of partman.
That would explain the different and broken UI, and also the broken fstab.

The other possibility is that the first time into partman, you get
the automatic partitioning menu, but this is not shown if you
manually pick it from the main menu. There is a menu item below the
partition table to do automatic partitioning though. But I don't think
that was it.

We've fixed this in the meantime by not building partconf for most
architectures anymore (including powerpc).

I'd suggest filing a separate bug on the web key problem if you can
reproduce it with current daily bilds.
