Bug#242385: won't boot on sparc64: illegal instruction

Comments/Problems:

Pressing OK on the first promp results in:

 Loaded kernel version 2.4.24
 Loading initial ramdisk (1118864 bytes at 0x40C00000)...
 Illegal Instruction
 ok

I have no experience in debugging this kind of problems.  I might be
able to give more data, if I'm told how to get them.

BTW: I have just installed the box with the woody 3.0r2 installer, this
works fine.
