you are right, there is no really place of the pot-files. yet.
I will create a dir POT in
  http://people.debian.org/~seppy/d-i/2nd-stage/
for the *.pot files. (or let's say: "That is what I wrote on my
TODO-list :)

I hope, I can do it this evening.
