That seems to be due to an ill-considered recent copying of woody's
lilo.conf into the lilo installer. Fixed. However, it has nothing to do
with the problem I reported.

This is the debconf note that is unconditionally, and pointlessly displayed
when lilo is installed.
Perhaps we should write lilo.conf before apt-installing lilo?
