Comments/Problems:
Hi there,
I tried to install the official beta 3 of the debian-installer. It bootet and
I got onto the first page of the usual installation (bootparameter = linux).
I choosed german as my preferred language, changed the keyboard settings.
Then the installer tried to detect my hardware and load the modules. For the
reason that the notebook I am using got no floppy-drive, the installer
stopped saying 'Detecting hardware [94%] "Skipping not available module
'ide-floppy' for 'Linux IDE floppy''. And then the installer freezes. Nothing
works, I cannot change into the 2nd shell or so. I have to reboot.
I tried to install it by using the 'expert'-installation but soon or later he
tries to detect and then skip loading the floppy-module. And that's where he
always freezes.
By the way: Installing Debian 3.0r2 worked perfectly without problems.. Maybe
for the reason that there he is not checking my floppy?
I hope this will help you to fix this.
Jens Gerdes
