Comments/Problems:
The installer found both netcards and recognise them correct but it
can't connect to the DHCP for some reason. I've used my notebook and
another normal PC with the same cable and the same installation CD and
it worked.
When try to install the base system I get this error:
(BTW, I get the same error in a "normal PC" [AMD 1GHz, 128MB IDE HD ] if
I interrupt the normal installation and try to do something else in the
menu, even if I get back to the same sequence I always get the same
problem but if I do not get out from the normal installation flow,
everything goes ok in a "normal PC", not the proliant servers).
You are attempting to install a kernel version that is the same as the
version you are currently running (ver. 2.4.25-1-386. The modules list
is quite likely to have changed, and the modules dependency file
/lib/modules/2.4.25-1-386/modules.dep needs to be rebuild.
/usr/sbin/mkinitrd: constituent device /dev/ida/disc0/part3 does not exist
Failed to create initrd image
dpkg: error processing kernel-image-2.4.25-1-386 (--configure):
subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Errors were encountered while processing: kernel-image-2.4.2-1-386
E: sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg: returned an error code (1)
I've tried to install it in 5 different Compaq Proliant. Most were the
1600R with 2 processors and I got the same error.
