1. I copied the last lines of the kernel panic by hand:

Partition Check
modprobe: can't locate module sysfs
Journalled Block Dev. driver loaded
LVM loaded
Mount: /dev2/root2 is not a valid block device (6x)
Mount: you must specify a fs type
Pivot-root: no such file or dir.
/sbin/init: 338: cannot open /dev/console: no such file
Kernel Panic: Attempted to kill init.

2. Menu item "Saving logs to floppy" does nothing. I saved the logs anyway.
   The only thing that seemd relevant was "Failed to load ide-disk", 
but what do I know.

3. Running lilo on vc#2 with /target/sbin/./lilo -C /target/etc/lilo.conf
    produces: "Fatal: raid-setup: stat("/dev/hdb")"
    There is no raid on this system, just 2 IDE drives (20GB + 40GB)
