debian-installer - some oddities

hi folks

i do some work on the s390 port and see the following not realy bugs:
- cdebconf uses \r for the progress bar which the terminal don't
  support, it looks like this:
| Y 1.5%" Y 1.5%" Unpacking autopartkit
| Y 3.0%" Y 3.0%" Retrieving base-installer
| Y 4.5%" Y 4.5%" Unpacking base-installer
| Y 6.1%" Y 6.1%" Retrieving baseconfig-udeb
| Y 7.6%" Y 7.6%" Unpacking basec
| onfig-udeb Y 9.1%" Y 9.1%" Retr
| ieving bugreporter-udeb Y 10.6%" Y
| 10.6%" Unpacking bugreporter-udeb
| Y 12.1%" Y 12.1%" Retrieving cdebconf-priority
- netcfg-static recalculates the gateway and dns if the ip is changed
  within the same network.
- cdebconf should not use translated strings on dumb terminals.
- anything uses parted now which neither supports block sizes != 512
bytes properly, s390 internal storage is a variable record size
storage and linux uses 4096 byte blocks by default, nor does it
  support ibm disklabels.

things which needs to be fixed:
- it must be possible to restart main-menu within a telnet session, the
  internal s390 is too limited
- the archive is full with not longer builded binary packages
  (hw-detect-full, netcfg for example)
