Comments/Problems:
I tried both the beta2 release from a few weeks ago then the unstable
beta2 installer released yesterday. Both had the same problem. This
report is about the unstable version.

I get all the way through the install process up to roughly 58% where it
begins to configure everything. I then receive an error. In the messages
file I see the following information:

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> error data <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
Setting up sysvinit (2.85-9)
sysvinit: creating /dev/initctl

init: timeout opening / writing control channel /dev/initctl

setting up modutils (2.4.26-1)

errors were encountered while processing
	tar

umount: /target/dev/shm: no such file
umount: /target/proc/bus/shm invalid argument
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> end error data <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

The processes gives me a message on the console to the effect that I
have encountered a problem please check the logs.... I can still
interact with the installer, but I can get no further in the install
process.

To recap: I'm attempting to use the unstable, beta2 installer to install
debian on partition /dev/hda6. The would effectively make the system
capable of being a dual boot machine. I don't know if there is a
partition issue where the installation must occur on a primary partition
or not.....
