I tested it, and got a segfault.  It went away when I ran discover
without -e ata (I tested by hand the command line used in hw-detect).

I believe you should just upload the udeb packages.  It will take a
while before the ftp-masters manage to do their stuff, and in the mean
time we will probably get rid of the segfault.

I can sponsor it if you want.  I considered uploading the packages
from the URL above, but the distribution was UNRELEASED and the
maintainer was progeny, so I was not too comfortable doing that.
