Problem : Kernel panic : VSF : Unable to mount root fs on 03 : 41

Memory 128 Mo RAM
Hard Disk IDE Seagate ST 320 413A ATA Disk Drive ( 20 Go )
Espace File Swap 1.88 Go
Version Bios A 6323 P2 V1.5 02282001
AMIBIOS Easy Setup Utilities ver 1.30
Operating System Microsoft Windows Millennium
Version 4.90.3000 Build 3000
In order to make a "dual boot" System ( Operating System Microsoft Windows
Millennium - Operating System Debian GNU/Linux 3.0 Woody ).
Three month ago I bought a second Hard Disk a IDE Seagate one, ST340 810A
ATA Disk Drive ( 40 Go ) and, a Debian GNU/Linux Official DVD.
Then I have mounted the second Hard Disk Drive as a slave disk, and I also
have built One rescue diskette; and the root diskette, more than One.
I mean the problem is :
I can run rescue the rescue diskette without problem, so I have to see a
message like this :

This disk uses the Linux Kernel 2.2.20

So I have to : 1° ) Press < ENTER > or

1° ) Then, if I press < ENTER >, I see the message like this :

So I insert a root remove the rescue diskette, and insert a root diskettein the floppy disk and

_ Nothing appear and nothing works...
2° ) Then if I type : rescue root=/dev/hdb1 and press < ENTER >, I see the message like this :

By the way, I use MS-DOS Fdisk ( FAT 16 ) and I don' t find a Linux - Fdisk nowhere...
