Why is d-i downloading lots of rubbish?

I am currently running the latest (as of a few minutes ago) daily build.

Not being one to waste time over needless questions, I chose "critical"
at the appropriate time.

I'm sure I will find more things to complain about - I have some I'm
keeping in reserve - but why is it downloading this?

There's a heap of packages it will not want. This is just one of them. I
noticed LILO too. I will be using GRUB.
btw It's nice to see this;-)

But, I'd rather see ask this question before it downloads lots of other
stuff.
