Someone else will be better equipped to reply to your specific issue, but I wanted to give you feedback that I have successfully installed 3.0r1 (rev 1) from 7 CD’s (mostly done with the 1st CD) without such difficulties, so you may want to persist
If you’ve only recently purchased your r0 set, perhaps they will do a free/low cost upgrade (say, paying for the additional shipping costs)

I've tried a number of times to install 3.0r0 from a set of 7 cd's purchased over the internet but before the first installation cd has finished I'm advised that it is unable to install the base system. file:/instmnt/pool/main/a/adduser/adduser_3.47_all.deb was corrupt couldn't download adduser.
