Package: base-installer Severity: normal Several install reports mention problems when a debootstrap run fails for some reason, and then future runs die because debootstrap is not idempotent. We came up with a way to avoid this problem: Before debootstrap is run, list all files in /target. If the run fails, take the list agian, and compare the lists to find all files added during the run. Remove these. This should avoid deleting anyone's /home partition if they mounted it during the partition mounting step. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux dragon 2.4.22 #1 Tue Aug 26 17:27:18 EDT 2003 i686 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C -- see shy jo
