Thank you for your patch. I'm applying the GNU/Linux parts, but not
some of the others:

We try not to make strictly space-formatting changes in the files
unless rewriting an entire paragraph. That's because translators for
several languages look at the patch files to incorporate them into
their translations, and these make the files longer unnecessarily (and
it takes time for translators to ignore the unnecessary changes).

It turns out that quik is case sensitive, so this is incorrect.

<file/quik.conf/ is an alternative sgml notation for <file>quik.conf</file>.

This falls into the unnecessary spacing change category. (I agree it looks
nicer your way; but it really doesn't matter what the source looks like.)
