This issue has been reported some times, iirc always in conjuction with
kernel 2.2.x (SuSE uses 2.4.x for epochs). If you want to install Woody
(which has 2.4.x), visit people.debian.org/~blade/boot-floppies or any
Debian mirror in few days.
