It is actually easy to make a libslang-bf-dev or something, that contains:
/usr/lib/libslang-utf8.so -> /lib/libslang.so.1-UTF8
/usr/lib/libslang.so -> /lib/libslang.so.1
/usr/include/slang.h (with no error checking)
which would allow for such build to happen.
However, one must make very sure that
-DUTF8, and -lslang / -lslang-utf8 matches.
