If you do, I'll be sure to downgrade it if nobody else gets to it first.

critical
	makes unrelated software on the system (or the whole system) break,
or causes serious data loss, or introduces a security hole on systems where
you install the package.

This bug obviously does not break the whole system, or even unrelated
software.

If you could provide some information about what is different, at the source
code or protocol level, to cause this change in behavior, someone could help
you track down the problem (which is probably not a bug in APT or wget).
