Proper Error Messages

hi,

my girlfriend tested eduard bloch's experimental 3.0.17 images,
since there was no x86 flavour of 3.0.16, just sources and the
all section, which sucks a bit, since it seems to be a bit
pointless not having them uploaded when a new versions comes out
:(.
anyway, in the process she got the "nice" error message: "an
error occurred" while trying to install the kernel image. the
reason was, that she configured the network and then wanted to
get it from the server, but couldn't be resolved because she
mixed up the input fields. so, instead of just displaying the
non-telling message a more descriptive one would be nice, when
wget fails in this part. ethan benson on irc or said that
something like that could be improved when busybox wget exits
with different exit codes having different meanings, i.e. no
route to host, can't resolve domain xyz. or generally can't
resolve domain.
that was just the most noteably shortcoming of the boot-floppies
so far. and what she also sees as the major drawback is that
there isn't check whether the to be installed packages fit on the
disk or not, but that's not a boot-floppies issue.

so long
Othmar
