Scripts to create the Debian installation floppy set.
This package allows you to create a Debian installation system on floppy
disk or other media, for bootstrapping Debian onto a new system. Most users
will simply download the disk images to do this, and this package will
generally only be used by advanced Debian maintainers.

Changes: boot-floppies (2.3.0) unstable; urgency=medium
.
* first version for woody
.
- this is completely and utterly untested; it is reported to build on
i386 and sparc; I'm sure it *doesn't* build on other arches yet
.
- the purpose of this release is to get wider distribution, and get a
version in woody that at least satisfies dependancies
.
Please help! Read README-CVS to get a version from CVS; use README to
get started so you can build; start picking off stuff from 'todo'.
We are *not* ready for testers yet.
.
* Adam Di Carlo
- debian/control: remove obsolete cslatex, cspsfonts stuff; remove
some obsolete build-depends (closes: Bug#77048); add depends on
console-data, required for loadkeys from keymaps.sh; sync
build-depends and depends; add depends on busybox and
build-essential; remove depends for console-data
- Makefile: break up into files in make/*
- remove rsync mirroring stuff; we get packages as needed apt-get
- stop building or providing base, use debootstrap instead
(closes: Bug#75018, Bug#64565)
- root: use nano-tiny rather than ae as our editor; add net-tools and
busybox packages
- root: remove stuff now in busybox
. remove lazybox for free and lsmod
. remove sed package (/bin/sed) completely
. remove shellutils (/bin/expr) completely
. add a blank /etc/ld.so.conf
- dbootstrap: improve messages when network devices not found
and the user is asked to configure the hostname
* Randolph Chung:
- rework the dbootstrap makefile
- some preliminary ia64 work
* David Whedon
- 'udma66' flavor is now called 'ide' flavor, docs and code updated
- use debootstrap to download base system rather that baseX_X.tgz
- fix handling of nameservers during install (closes: Bug#67510)
- network installation will optionally ask you whether you wish to
install woody, potato, or slink (defaulting to woody of course)
* Guido Guenther:
- SGI partition label support for MIPs
* Ben Collins:
- library reduction updates, now works on PowerPC
* Taketoshi Sano: working on i18n support, adding a new utility,
'shrink_strings' to shrink strings correctly because euc-jp encoded
strings need special treating at line breaking to work with slang and
newt libraries
* Matt Kraai
- dbootstrap network download logging improvements (closes: Bug#92907)
- tell HTTP connections to close when net-fetching, eliminating a wait
after downloading has finished (closes: Bug#93054)
- documentation fixes (closes: Bug#93069)

Your package contains new components which requires manual editing of
the override file. It is ok otherwise, so please be patient. New
packages are usually added to the override file about once a week.
You may have gotten the distribution wrong. You'll get warnings above
if files already exist in other distributions.
