trying to build woody boot-floppies

I'm actually mostly successful, there was one hurdle to jump, in utilities/dbootstrap/floppy_merge.c, there was one (big) line near the beginning that looked like it was commented C++ style, and was halting `make release', so i put /* real comments */ around it, and could continue building, until this happened:

./driverdisks.sh "" modules.tgz modcont /home/tmp/mirrors/debian/master/downloadI: extracting into driver staging area /var/tmp/boot-floppies/extract-tmp-13375
I: tarring pcmcia materials into staging area /var/tmp/boot-floppies/drivers-13375
I: moving from temporary area into /var/tmp/boot-floppies/drivers-13375
I: finishing up /var/tmp/boot-floppies/drivers-13375
I: moving /var/tmp/boot-floppies/drivers-13375 into drivers.tgz

gzip: stdin: fstat(stdin)
E: ./driverdisks.sh abort
make[1]: *** [drivers.tgz] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/sam/src/boot-floppies'
make: *** [build] Error 2

This is the closest I've actually ever come to building b-f's, any help you can offer would be mucho appreciated..
