Bug#94876: boot-floppies: password entry (for root) ignore trailing spaces

Package: boot-floppies
Version: 20010309
Severity: normal

at some point during the installation from floppies (I guess it's the same
when using cd or other methods) the user is asked for root password,
the password is accepted and later on a user can log in using this
password (root account). However, if the password contains space
at the end this space is ignored. For example if the password entered
is 'secret ' the password that user could actually use to log in is
'secret' (no space at the end).

IIRC the same goes for the first suer that is created during installation
  process.
