I know about the no release dates policy, but according to the
slippery schedule posted to -devel the other day - don't you think 2.4
will be out and in 2.4.8 or so before the summer?  Else, ramfs doesn't
seem to hard to backport (it's 342 lines).  I could probably do it, if
anyone wants me to, but I'll first have to say that I have absolutely
minimal experience with kernel hacking.
