 Ok, I just tested this.  I had to install the kernel and modules from
 floppy, of course, and then configured modules via the interface, and
 inserted the `parport_pc'.  `plip' would not insert; `dmesg' told me
 that it was because there was no IRQ assigned for parport0.  I ran
 "echo 7 > /proc/parport/0/irq", and after that the plip module
 inserted fine, and now at the start of "Configure the network", it
 offers both eth0 and plip0 as possible primary network interfaces.

 Having to set the IRQ by hand like that ought to be documented
 somewhere by a dialog, or perhaps handled by `modconf'.

 I'm closing this bug report with our next release.
