This has been fixed in boot-floppies. I've tested the change and it
seems to be safe.
Guys, this is a little radical -- feel free to back out to uni-docs if
you have to when we're trying to get 2.2.9 out, but this shouldn't be
necessary. Unfortunately, this adds to the build time quite a bit.
