Bug#59655: Multiple ethernet card configuration.
Package: modconf
Severity: wishlist
When I insert an ethernet module, I want `modconf' to write a file in
"/etc/modutils" called "ethernet-aliases" with a line in it like
"aliase eth0 MYCARD", as well as a file called MYCARD with the
"options" from the dialog box in it. It then needs to run
update-modules, and `modprobe eth0'.
I want it to know (via that file) when another module will be the
secondary or tertiary interface, and write a line with an alias to
the "ethernet-aliases" file, &c.
"/etc/modules" should then contain "eth0" rather than "MYCARD", as
well as a line for each additional ethernet card.
This makes it simpler later on if you want to change ethernet cards,
or swapt which one is eth0/eth1.
