Bug#58857: The boot floppies do not work with milex raid on root.

need some additional info:

1) are you using the standard or compact kernel? have you tried the other one?
2) did you get any error messages when you tried to install the boot loader?

this really should be necessary.... what does 'mount' say?

did you get any error messages when you tried to do this through the
