There will allways be the option to configure the network by
hand. Normaly giving the IP and netmask would be enough. broadcast,
dns and gateway will be guessed and if everything fails you can type
in the ips. At least thats what I want.

Thats fine, they are already there.

Also there for whiptail (modconf).

Hmm, don´t have that on the initrd.

A single disk installation probably won´t be possible with
modules. You eigther need a 2.88 floppy or two 1.44 floppies. For the
CD 2.88 floppies are no problem, but nobody has a real 2.88 floppy drive.
