Adaptec AHA 2940 UW

Hi,

When I boot from the slink CD my AHA 2940 UW SCSI controller
_is_ found but some wierd WD-7000 SCSI card fails
initialisation. After installation the same message pops up
every time I reboot the system. I never heard about this
particular controller and thus don't have one ;-).

The problem dissapears when I recompile the kernel for my
computer.

Here is the the kernel boot screen of the original slink
kernel:

The system halts for about 30 a 40 seconds right before the Failed (...)
message.

Maybe the bug is not in the adaptec modules but in the WD-7000
SCSI card module...

Hope this helps some people,

Greetings,

Onno
