I agree that this would be the best solution but me neither have the
needed Perl skills.

I've experienced (and suffered from all the according work) two renames
(Debian Internal Projects -> Custom Debian Distributions -> Debian Pure
Blends). I'm not up for another name change.

... specifically since most Blends somehow are a "desktop environment"
for some wider definition of desktop environment which does not know
the answers Gnome, XFCE, KDE, etc.
