Cruft prevention in backports

I've uploaded
https://ftp-master.debian.org/new/lava_2018.5-3~bpo9%2B1.html which is
a new source package which replaces the old source packages of
lava-server and lava-dispatcher.

ftp-master has removed those source packages from unstable and testing
after I filed #900847 and #900846

Should I have asked for the source packages to have been removed from
stretch-backports in those bug reports?

Do I need new bug reports or will this happen automatically as part of
accepting the new source package into stretch-backports?

Apologies for not thinking of this earlier.
