gdb from testing for jessie?

Hi.

I backported gdb 7.11.1 from testing to jessie and uploaded it to mentors:
dget -x https://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/g/gdb/gdb_7.11.1-2~bpo8+1.dsc

Do you think it makes sense to include a newer gdb version into
jessie-backports? What steps do I need to take to help make it happen?

My reasons for backporting:
gdb 7.7.1 crashes when I try to debug our companies C++ application
(endless recursion when demangling). I think this is caused by [1].
This bug has been fixed in gdb 7.10.1, and 7.11.1 seems to work fine.
There are also several bugreports against the gdb Debian packages
mentioning segfaults or crashes during demangling (e.g.: 760978,
755999, 772039).

Thanks.
Christoph
