Re: qupzilla for wheezy-backports

Hi Georges,

thank you for the tips.

Yes, I have run lintian against my build, in addition it ran again when I uploaded my package to mentors and the results can be seen in http://mentors.debian.net/package/qupzilla.

> E: qupzilla changes: backports-changes-missing

I didn't get this error since I built the package with the option -v1.6.6-1. In addition, qupzilla would be new in wheezy-backports, so there are no changes to list since its last version there.

I thought these warnings were relevant for uploads to stable (or maybe testing/sid). I may be wrong but many backports are nmu but I usually see ~bpoXX+Y not the nmu suffix in the version string.

I'll look into them. I'm trying to learn so any tip is welcome.

Oh, and I'll have to setup a decent mail client with support for threads and gpg signatures :)  (now on Gmail webmail).

Best regards.

Dear Bruno,

have you run lintian against your build ?

When I rebuild your package, here is Lintian's complaint:

E: qupzilla changes: backports-changes-missing
W: qupzilla source: changelog-should-mention-nmu
W: qupzilla source: source-nmu-has-incorrect-version-number 1.6.6-2~bpo70+1
W: qupzilla source: out-of-date-standards-version 3.9.5 (current is 3.9.6)

The last warning does not need attention, Standards-version=3.9.5 is OK
for Wheezy. However , please use lintian-info to know how to avoid the
error "backports-changes-missing".

About the NMU: either you explicitely mention it, and use some other
numbering scheme, like .6.6-2~bpo70+0.1, or I must list myself as the
last modifier in debian/changelog, so it is no longer a NMU.

Please fix thoses issues.

Best regards,                   Georges.
