I've been maintaining i18nspector in wheezy-backports for a while.The version currently in Jessie, that I'd like to backport, introduces build-time tests that depend on features than are not present in Wheezy's polib, but are present in Jessie's.
That's bug #766179. Just cherry-pick the one line patch, and then polib backport won't be necessary. :-)
