Rightly complain, IMHO.

It's ok that backports are provided "as-is" and on best effort, but
improving them and fixing them whenever possible is a good thing. You
can't just discard complains about issues just because "we told you".

The examples that Alexey Eromenko gave are really good. It'd be very
legitimate to try to run a backported kernel with nvidia drivers, for
example (and Andreas Beckmann said he would hopefully have a look into it).
