hey backports folks: http://bugs.debian.org/346409 is still open in squeeze. when you try to look at a coredump from a position-independent executable (PIE), gdb gives this error message: warning: The current binary is a PIE (Position Independent Executable), which GDB does NOT currently support. Most debugger features will fail if used in this session. apache2 is a PIE (as one example of something it would be nice to be able to debug). I've backported gdb 7.3-1 to squeeze, and it needed no changes to build correctly. It even works properly :) Any objections to my uploading it to squeeze-backports? anything i should be aware of? --dkg
