Please stop this FUD. libavcodec changed its ABI for 0.7 the first time
since September 2008, which is about 3 years!

The problem with libavcodec is rather it's edgy API and lack of
extensive documentation how it is supposed to be used, both which is
being worked on actively. At least in Libav.
