http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=365956 claims to have apatch. I'm pretty sure that is a patch against the file that becomes/usr/bin/firefox (which is actually a shell script), so you should beable to patch the installed firefox --- no need to recompile.
