And it has been merged with a bug that's open since 2001, (look at the
smallest bug number, something like 88xxx). In the bug log it's
explained that this is likely not to be a bug in apt, and not very
important, anyway: Just remove /var/cache/apt/*cache.bin, or better fix
your underlying problem that caused them to be corrupted.
