apt-0.6.45~bpo.1 in sarge backports has critical bug.

I just hit bug #383223:

I only discovered the existing report after messing with gdb, but at
least it confirmed that it was the same problem :-( This was on i386
architecture.

The version in backports really needs upgrading to avoid this critical
show stopper....
