This is actually the only solution you have. You cannot force any manufacturer
to provide support, service parts and updates for many years if you buy a simple
consumer device.

There are companies that offer products with longer support times, but those are
naturally more expensive because providing support over such a long time costs
a lot of money to maintain.

My old iPhone 5s that was released in 2013 is still receiving security updates after
all these years. So there are actually companies offering that service. But again,
an iPhone is more expensive than a comparable Android device.
